I am SO EXCITED about this work, which really started as a piece for my home, but has become a bit of an obsession as I consider the way koi gather, move, and settle, and the many ways their environment shifts with light.
I hope you love it too.
This new direction, creating wall prints with a combination of block printing and stencils, has been an exploration. This first collection, Koi, began after a trip to New Orleans where we discovered koi painted on the sidewalks where downspouts shaped like fish had once been. I was enamored with the idea of school of koi on totes, but the canvas wasn’t big enough and I found myself using yardage to print the numbers I wanted.
These linen canvases are meant to be wall pieces and they are big. Please note the sizes in the descriptions.
Unless otherwise specified, these canvases will ship rolled with raw edges. You can contact me about finishing edges and creating a sleeve for a dowel to hang for an additional charge, OR we can stretch and mount the canvas for you. Please contact me directly to discuss.
