Living What You Preach

I have written now a couple of times about being less complacent about what goes into our wardrobes.  Buying less, buying better quality, buying used items, and, above all, making things.  There is another avenue - giving things away that you don't wear and taking things that others no longer need.

My husband asks me occasionally, "How many sweaters do you really need?"  And, of course, the answer is not as many as I want to knit.  Knitting is like breathing to me, I need to do it.  My hands are not happy sitting idly in my lap when I visit with friends or watch movies or while waiting, which parents do a lot this waiting thing.  I have made my own resolution to knit things my family needs like socks, which we go through in crazy amounts.  Maybe a well-knit sock will last longer than even good quality hiking socks, I don't know.  But I aim to find out.

In the meantime, I have too many sweaters.  So, I'm giving away four of them.  In no particular order:

All of the sweaters were knit by me and have been worn.  The yellow lace cardi probably worn the least as it just isn't me no matter how much I wish it was.  Please email me or contact me via Facebook where I'll link this post and let me know if you want one.  I would prefer to see them on friends and neighbors or mailed to happy recipients than have them sit in my closet.
