Sheep For Sale

In a continual effort to pare down, minimize our needs, and respect our limitations, I'm selling some sheep this year.

Willow and Hazel, twins and constant companions.

Dulcie, aka Booger.

I would love it if Willow and Hazel could go together - they really love each other and their mum, Aila.  She is a terrific mama and has nursed longer than any of the other ewes, though I did notice her gently kick Hazel away when she tried to nurse this morning.  At 12 weeks the lambs are certainly ready to wean.

Dulcie was that pesky ewe that my friend Mariann left me last January, citing a lack of space.  She's always been a tough fit for my tightly knit herd and I don't need another black fleece, but she is super friendly and always first in line for some grain and a chin scratch.  She has a lovely fleece - a very dark katmoget and appears to be duel coated, with a gorgeous soft undercoat.

Sorry for the lousy photos.  I'm challenged at the best of times with the camera and sheep are terrible subjects - always ready to take off at the slightest provocation.  Jasper is having trouble herding them after a stellar week of keeping them in line.  They've realized that if they stick together as a group he freaks out and runs off.  Who says sheep don't have brains?
